Synopsis

During a holiday in Jerusalem, Poirot learns of an archaeological expedition to Syria, spearheaded by the peculiar Lord Boynton and his son Leonard. The pair are convinced they are close to discovering the remains of St. John the Baptist. Intrigued, Poirot decides to visit the dig and encounters Boynton's formidable second wife, a woman of considerable wealth and American origins. However, the expedition’s progress is abruptly overshadowed by the discovery of Lady Boynton’s lifeless body and sub
