As Biff wrestled with the stubborn front door, Jessica made his task difficult with sharp words. A knot of worry tightened in her chest; no one seemed to grasp the gravity of Butch’s threat. She feared his return, the chilling certainty of another attack bearing down on her. Zak volunteered to visit Tina, but Nellie remained stubbornly detached, unwilling to acknowledge the daughter she had.
