After watching all six episodes back-to-back, this series has definitely secured MilkLove's spot among GL romantic comedies. I am excited about Girl Rules, but I really hope that afterward, the creators return to this gentle, cozy, and lighthearted style because it truly suits them. Their chemistry is consistently strong and natural, like it was in InkPa from Bad Buddy (2021) and 23.5 last year. Even when they’re simply talking or sharing a quiet embrace, I still feel those familiar fluttery sensations. The sleepover scene in Whale Store xoxo was so simple yet comforting—just the two of them chatting and cuddling with their cat. It felt genuinely heartwarming and healing. They described WSX as an adult, fluffy, feel-good romcom… but I’ve already cried twice; that's misleading 😭 Seriously though, this series might be overlooked, but it perfectly aligns with what I enjoy. Stories like this deserve more visibility. When life feels overwhelming, watching something that offers comfort and happiness is a real gift. Whale Store xoxo combines everything I love: fluff, warmth, adult issues, and a touch of domesticity. Wan’s struggles resonated deeply, particularly when she mentioned getting so focused on success that she lost sight of her original goal of caring for her dad. That really struck me. It made me realize how I've also been avoiding difficult conversations with my parents, dismissing things and saying “I’m fine” to prevent them from worrying or giving me a hard time. I hope we all take some time to consider the messages about empathy, family, and the quiet challenges people face that the show presents in each episode. There’s always something meaningful beneath the surface, and I appreciate how they incorporate those themes without making it feel overly dramatic. Also, major praise for Noey and the writer. That unspoken subplot of Noey's hidden feelings was so well concealed, even from viewers like me, until episode six. She never states it directly, but you can sense it in things like dropping her coffee when she hears Wan kissed Maewnam to how she consistently goes above and beyond for her. It’s subtle, yet incredibly impactful. I also appreciate how each episode flows seamlessly into the next. It doesn't feel hurried or disconnected, even though I know they were working within a limited ten-episode structure.
