Another "Robin Hood" retelling was seemingly unnecessary. Those who feel that way aren’t alone; it feels like another indication of a lack of originality in Western media. There appears to be very little fresh thinking, resulting in dull and obvious rehashes of concepts and programs that have already run their course. This new “Robin Hood” series offers nothing viewers haven't seen before—and done more effectively. As is often the case, there’s historical alteration presented as an attempt at diversity and inclusion, which only contributes to the show’s feeling of staleness and decay. The performers aren’t to blame; in fact, the acting stands out as a positive aspect. They are capable actors who simply ended up in a project that perhaps should have never been started. Ultimately, repeating familiar narratives isn't going to satisfy viewers looking for something more substantial. It’s barely worth watching.
