Synopsis

The Ogdens marked twenty-five years of marriage. Stan presented Hilda with a playful fur stole. Annie learned that Lucille and Gordon had eloped. Jack and Maggie reported their disappearance to the police. At the station, Gordon and Lucille missed their train to Gretna Green. Ena managed the shop in their absence and discovered Effie’s unpaid bill for ten pounds. She made Effie aware of her knowledge. Effie, in turn, accused Maggie and Val of revealing the debt to Ena, and dissolved into tears.
