Synopsis

Val and Concepta often spoke of how little they saw their husbands these days. Minnie struggled with Charlie’s dog, Little Titch, who appeared to hold a distinct dislike for her. She wandered through Martha’s belongings, a growing melancholy settling over her. Elsie returned from work feeling unwell. Later, Pip Mistral, the exotic dancer, called on Charlie, extending an invitation to a party on Sunday celebrating a friend's birthday at her flat.
