Synopsis

Strange sounds emanated from number nine, audible to the residents of the street. Martha learned that newcomers had taken up residence. Concepta, increasingly unnerved by the noises, found herself disinclined to be alone in number seven. She and Elsie felt dismissed, stung by the disbelief with which their claims were met. The local paper carried accounts of a prowler active at night. A light flickering within the house prompted Harry and Ken to investigate.
