Synopsis

Annie has uncovered the truth behind Jack's puzzling ailment, and her return from her inquiries brings about a noticeable shift in the Rovers. She burdens Jack with work, task after task. After considerable deliberation, Harry and Len decide on a last-ditch effort: they take Lucky Lolita to the races, hoping it will rekindle her former vitality. Back at the Vestry, Ena suffers a minor stroke, collapsing to the floor. As the night progresses, no one comes forward to assist her.
