Synopsis

The committee extended the offer of Ena’s position. Minnie was delighted when she accepted. Ena was taken aback to learn that Dennis had intervened on her behalf. He soon discovered, however, that the letter he intended to send had never left his hand. The residents then organized a welcome celebration for Ena's return. Albert returned to his residence at number one. Ena relished the party’s warmth until Mr. Baxter’s unexpected arrival.
