Synopsis

Shikaku, forged in the crucible of a brutal childhood, had become a legend in the underworld – an assassin of chilling renown. She accepted a commission from Yugeru, a vampire whose existence spanned three millennia, to relieve him of a life grown stale and weary. Yet, even Shikaku found herself unable to grant his request. Returning to her solitary dwelling, she discovered an unwelcome persistence: Yugeru’s memory clung to her, stirring within her a disquieting and unfamiliar tide of feeling.
