Synopsis

In the workshop of Ask This Old House, Tom Silva assists a homeowner in restoring a newel post at the base of their staircase that has become loose. Elsewhere, Richard Trethewey demonstrates several techniques for cleanly cutting both rigid pipes and flexible tubing to Kevin O'Connor. Meanwhile, Roger Cook journeys to an arboretum, where he learns the art of propagating plants through cuttings and grafting.
