Synopsis

Employing materials sourced nearby is often viewed as an environmentally conscious practice, and throughout this project we've utilized local limestone for the front porch wall caps, the first-floor vanity countertop, and the landscape borders. Master carpenter Norm Abram journeys to Jarrell, Texas, to observe the quarrying process, while lead carpenter Tony Goss restores the original wooden front porch columns, now mounted on new bases designed for improved resistance to decay.
