Synopsis

We explore the recently demolished rear sections of the house, noting the inadequacy of their original framing. Ahead of the new foundation, the crew secures the gable end of the old structure with engineered lumber "pins," braced from both within and without. Herb Brockert dismantles portions of the old rubblestone foundation, while a concrete truck delivers a small batch of material to pour footings for the addition's lally columns. Steve revisits the Gallants' Victorian home to gauge their sa
