Synopsis

Dean experiments with methods for removing paint from the window castings: a heat gun, a heat plane, and chemical strippers. Meanwhile, upstairs, the master carpenter replaces the aged window band moldings with fresh material. Lauren and kitchen designer Phil Mossgraber consult a model, virtually exploring the design of the new kitchen. Finally, the host returns to last season's primary undertaking – the renovation of Jan and Brian Igoe's ranch, conceived by Graham Gund.
