Synopsis

Following acclaimed works on the Dutch Golden Age, art history, and most recently a book and accompanying television series exploring the history of the United Kingdom, British historian Simon Schama now turns his attention to the United States. This shift is no accident, as Schama has resided and worked primarily in the US since 1980, holding positions at Harvard and currently teaching at Columbia University.
