The United States, Europe, and a significant portion of Western public opinion are firmly against engaging with terrorists. Yet, Alastair Crooke, who has dedicated decades to this approach, argues the opposite. Terrorist acts and military responses represent merely a limited strategy within a far broader political struggle. It is this larger conflict that must be won – or, as Mr. Crooke believes, brought to an end – and dialogue is the only path to achieving that.
