Synopsis

Garry Kasparov, a chess grandmaster who had conquered all available prizes, had for the past two years redirected his battle from the chessboard to the political arena. There, too, he aimed for the ultimate victory: the opposition leader intended to compete in the 2008 presidential elections. Despite successfully uniting the opposition behind him, Vladimir Putin intervened before the vote, disrupting his plans.
