Synopsis

In Caracas, Rob Schröder’s *De Informele Stad* offers a portrait of a city that exemplifies the rapid urbanization sweeping across continents like Africa and South America. This past spring, Schröder journeyed through the barrios of Caracas – the sprawling settlements that formed the bedrock of Commandant Chávez's power – in the company of the young, activist architects Alfredo Brillembourg and Hubert Klumpner.
