Synopsis

Ugandan national Steven is granted political asylum in Denmark. He claims to have been recruited as a child soldier by the Ugandan army, subsequently deserted, and is now fleeing reprisal. Danish director Mette Zeruneith takes him under her wing. Steven reveals he has a son he wishes to bring to Denmark; she assists him and decides to document their story in a moving documentary. Then, Steven and his son vanish without a trace. The truth, it turns out, is far more complex than anyone imagined.
