Synopsis

The hardships of life under Saddam Hussein were well known. He made his people’s days difficult, and even at home, in the evenings, there was no escape from his presence. For hours, one could watch every action of the great leader on television, accompanied by enthusiastic commentary. If the fall of the dictator sparked any revolution, it was on the television screen. Director Roel van Broekhoven assembled an evening's worth of Iraqi television for the documentary program *Tegenlicht*.
