The fourth and final installment in the *Tegenlicht* series, 'Making of the Netherlands,' examines a shift in contemporary politics where integration is increasingly framed as a matter of malleability. In Rotterdam, the previous year saw Pim Fortuyn’s advocacy for a stricter approach to integration propel him to victory in the municipal elections. Following Fortuyn's death, Alderman Sjaak van der Tak translated his vision into policy with the launch of the Deltaplan Inburgering. This project emb
