Synopsis

Herman Stier was once Netherlands' pride in the field of biotechnology. However, due to governmental opposition, all his endeavors have since been discontinued, and he now spends his retirement at Naturalis in Leiden. Consequently, the Netherlands appears to have lost a vital vessel. Tegenlicht has reconstructed the difficult beginnings of genetic technology in the Dutch lowlands.
