Synopsis

Few travelers venture into Saxony, a region of former East Germany, keeping its treasures largely unknown. Here, we explore the two principal cities: Dresden, the capital, where opulent palaces and art treasures reflect the legacy of the Wettin dynasty; and Leipzig, a city steeped in Bach's musical heritage, marked by a grand monument commemorating Europe’s victory over Napoleon, and museums that bear witness to its communist past.
