Five picturesque port towns offered a glimpse into village life: midnight fishing for anchovies, indulging in exceptional pesto, harvesting grapes, and watching cliff divers from the "walkway of love." Each pastel-hued town was a charm, but Vernazza held a special appeal – where Giovanni crafted pasta and Granelli offered porcini mushrooms at the small street market. A detour to Carrara's historic quarries, where Michelangelo chose his marble, led us back to Vernazza to wander its sole thoroughf
