Synopsis

The heart of Ireland reveals itself most fully along the west coast, in the Gaeltacht regions where Gaelic is spoken and the villages retain a timeless quality. Having explored the wild Aran Islands, we find ourselves in Galway, seeking a playful dolphin, and then venture into the furthest reaches of Ireland: the Dingle Peninsula. Alive with the strains of traditional music spilling from its cozy pubs, and scattered with ancient stone forts, this is where Ireland often captures the heart.
