Synopsis

This is the first of two explorations into Europe’s most vibrant festivals. We’ll join the jubilant crowds at Siena’s exhilarating Palio horse race, attempt a caber at a Scottish Highland Games, don a mask for Carnevale in Venice, and celebrate Easter traditions in Greece. Visiting some of the Continent's most celebrated gatherings, we find that each is a lively expression of cultural heritage, offering abundant chances for song and dance, traditional feasts, and spirited camaraderie with locals
