Synopsis

The year was marked by the Second World War, and for six-year-old Ambo and his family, it brought the harsh realities of the Imperial Japanese Army. Even amidst the pervasive darkness, a connection had formed between Ambo and Captain Mori, a Japanese officer whom the boy regarded with affection and trust, seeing in him a kindness akin to a father's. This fragile connection, however, fractured irrevocably when Ambo witnessed an execution carried out by Captain Mori.
