There are miniseries content with simply being a “decent thriller,” but this one isn't like that. It grabs you immediately, with an odd, unsettling energy—as if someone is observing you from a window you never knew existed. I watched it eagerly because it doesn’t just aim to intrigue; it pulls you into a downward spiral of suspicion, obsession, and paranoia that’s difficult to escape. The central draw is the dynamic between the characters. Claire Danes reaches a point where she seems on the verge of collapse, yet she still commands attention with a tight jaw. And Matthew Rhys… wow. He's off his rocker here, certainly, but what's truly remarkable (and wonderful) is that he doesn’t portray it as a caricature. He makes him genuinely dangerous: someone who can be charming one moment and the next send chills down your spine. That combination of appeal and menace provides excellent fuel for this kind of story. What impressed me most was how convoluted it gets without relying on easy solutions. There are plot twists, naturally, and some episodes leave you feeling like “okay, just one more and I’m done” (a lie). Occasionally, it feels stretched a bit, as if trying to crank up the tension too much… but generally, it paid off because the atmosphere is consistently well-maintained. The overall feel really contributes to the experience: attractive homes that don't seem safe, silences lasting just long enough for your mind to conjure the worst possibilities, and a production design that gradually traps you with the characters. It’s a series of glances, subtle details, small gestures that signal “something is amiss” even when no one speaks. It isn’t a flawless miniseries, nor does it attempt to be. If you're looking for something revolutionary, this isn’t it. But if you want a gripping psychological thriller—the kind that leaves you uneasy and pondering afterward—there’s plenty to enjoy here. And yes: Rhys is incredibly disturbed… and that’s precisely what makes it so entertaining.
