Synopsis

To grasp the intricacies of wild orangutan society and the ancestral skills passed down through mothers, ecologist Chris Morgan journeys to a secluded peat swamp forest in Northern Sumatra, known as Suaq Balimbing. Joining a team of seasoned researchers, he becomes deeply immersed in the life of this unique group of orangs. There, he witnesses their tool use, their communal sharing of food, their collaborative foraging, and the development of a distinct culture born from their interactions.
