Synopsis

The story begins with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s fiftieth attempt to nurture an orphaned otter. From her initial discovery as a stranded newborn, whimpering on the shore, to her quiet rehabilitation within hidden tanks on the Aquarium's roof, we witness Otter 501's journey. We follow her as she learns the essential skills of diving, hunting, and feeding, preparing for a life in the wild – a life where survival remains a precarious hope.
