Synopsis

Following the triumph of *Star Wars*, Industrial Light & Magic relocated to a new facility, though not all were included in the move. With production of *The Empire Strikes Back* underway, the team confronted unfamiliar obstacles. Dissatisfied with existing technology, George Lucas established a new division dedicated to advancing filmmaking techniques. Upon *Empire*'s release, ILM accepted external projects for the first time, initiating a period of extraordinary achievement.
