This series centers on a character whose actions have devastating consequences for others. She’s presented as malevolent, and the narrative explores what shaped her into that person, suggesting it wasn't simply bad behavior but a deliberate exploitation of those she perceived as virtuous—individuals striving to live decent lives. I hoped to empathize with her background, given the terrible upbringing she experienced and the lasting impact of neglectful parents. The most upsetting aspect was witnessing how thoroughly she ruined the lives of people who genuinely cared for her; it left me deeply saddened on their behalf. The actors delivered convincing portrayals, which only amplified the emotional weight of the story. Their characters seemed beyond redemption. Kim You Jung, as Baek Ah Jin, gave a remarkable performance, and both Kim Young Dae (as Yoon Jun Seo) and Kim Do Hoon (as Kim Jae Ho) were exceptional—their work was worthy of recognition. I felt immense sympathy for their respective roles; they all deserved better outcomes. The storyline felt fresh and the cast remained committed to portraying their characters' disturbing behavior. This show left me feeling more despairing than when I began watching it. It seemed like such a senseless loss for everyone involved. Despite finding it captivating, I’m hesitant to wholeheartedly suggest it, as it’s not something I could ever bring myself to watch again. The acting is superb, but the emotional toll is significant. Following familiar K-drama conventions, there are deaths—multiple ones—and you're left feeling emotionally drained afterward.
