Synopsis

Midway in the Adriatic, Palagruža stands – a solitary rock crowned with a lighthouse that has sheltered keepers since 1875. Vojo Šain has served here for twenty-six years, one of Croatia’s dwindling number of lighthouse keepers. To him, Palagruža is more than simply a post; the island is a home away from home. For weeks on end, he exists removed from comfort and the bustle of civilization.
