Synopsis

Edmond arrived in Marseille to a grim tidings: his father was dead, and Mercedes had married and relocated to Paris. While in the city, he met a young Italian named Jacopo, and together they fled to Italy by boat. After spending an evening at Jacopo's dwelling, Edmond borrowed the young man’s vessel and set a course for the Island of Monte-Cristo, driven by the pursuit of a long-lost treasure.
