“IT: Welcome to Derry” manages to be dreadful in every conceivable way. It’s a deeply flawed production—a bizarre, excessive, misguided, badly written disaster that bears little resemblance to the much better book and previous film adaptations. The few positive aspects are decent performances and professional-looking visuals, but those elements aren't enough to redeem this series. Undoubtedly, promotional material will attempt to portray it as something special. However, people familiar with Stephen King’s novel and who have appreciated the earlier “IT” movies won't be taken in by that. This is one best skipped.
