This new series from HBO has left me quite let down. The performances are truly awful, and the script isn’t significantly better. I don't typically pay attention to computer-generated imagery, but some of the "monster" effects looked rushed or carelessly made—like they were created on a basic home computer. We actually burst out laughing during several scenes that were supposed to be frightening. I went in expecting a horror series with substance, but what I got was just writers trying random ideas hoping something would work. It seems geared toward younger viewers, which feels more like something from The WB than HBO; I had hoped for something more thoughtful. We should expect a higher standard from HBO, especially when you consider shows like *Succession*, where the acting is superb and comes from incredibly talented performers. That’s certainly not what we have here with this poorly made show. It makes me wonder who was responsible for casting these actors. It seems like a lot of thirteen-year-olds are rating it perfectly, which I saw discussed in an article about **Review Bombing**, something that apparently also happens frequently with Indian films and shows aimed at younger audiences. **1/10**
