Jack Bauer, the character many men probably wished they could emulate, is incredibly effective at what he does! He disregards protocol, acting instead on his own sense of justice. There’s even a scene where he requests a saw to remove the head of someone he's already shot—inside CTU headquarters, of all places—so he can use it to intimidate some criminals and demonstrate his toughness. This protagonist finds himself in every imaginable predicament and frequently exclaims "Damb it!"
