The narrative is strong, the performances are solid, and the direction is well-handled; however, like many productions recently, its quality is diminished due to what I perceive as overt ideological messaging. It’s a shame, because it could easily be considered among the finest shows of recent years—but that aspect ultimately prevents me from awarding a higher rating. It's frustrating to see so many stories and programs incorporate this kind of agenda.
