It makes me uncomfortable when the press presents Oswald’s actions as a solitary event; I worry people will simply accept what the Warren Commission reported. And we're all aware of how flawed their findings were. We also know who was truly responsible for JFK’s death—Allen Dulles. Reading about it initially was upsetting, and watching it on Hulu didn’t improve things. However, as a fan of King’s work, I appreciate his deliberate pacing and those moments are always engaging. It's a shame that the series wasn't more expansive; some sections from the beginning were completely omitted...but overall, it was still enjoyable to view. Franco delivered a strong performance in a dramatic part, and it was compelling to follow him through King’s intricate storyline set during a period that felt very much like the time I’ve only read about. One letdown was the absence of the nostalgic feel for that past era that King infused into the novel—that sense where you felt like your father was sharing a story with you, unfiltered and raw. The show presented the narrative, but it didn't convey that underlying paternal affection present in the book. The plot itself proved to be entertaining and fun.
