The title is ironic given how somber the movie turned out to be. I understand the film draws inspiration from a true incident. It centers on a federal prosecutor whose life had been fairly stable until he developed an addiction to an escort service. While his spouse encourages him to pursue a career in politics, he finds himself unable to break free from this new compulsion. Eventually, he faces a choice between these two paths, which leads to the story's conclusion. The premise itself was quite captivating, but I wasn’t entirely satisfied with how it played out visually. The performances were strong, and the actors delivered excellent portrayals. Patrick Wilson did well, and Lena Headey stood out even with limited screen time. The supporting characters also had a significant impact on the film, particularly their motivations which created some surprising plot developments. A central idea explored is that people are capable of extreme measures to gain power or achieve something substantial. The underlying theme was powerful, but there were moments where the storytelling felt less impactful. It’s an acceptable and watchable movie overall. The ending took me by surprise, though it seemed somewhat illogical considering the character's actions. I would describe it as a middling film—neither terrible nor exceptional. It deals with the downfall of someone in a position of authority or at least attempts to depict that scenario, but everything is shown from just one viewpoint. I encourage viewers to form their own opinions rather than dismissing it simply because others have already done so. _6/10_
