The film centers around “Isabelle” (Marine Vacth) and a conversation she's having with her younger brother "Victor" (Fantin Ravat) regarding losing her virginity. It appears “Felix” (Lucas Prisor) is the man she’s chosen, and he fulfills her expectations. However, his intentions extend beyond just physical intimacy; he desires connection with her—though she has already obtained what she sought from him and moves to the city to begin a career earning €300 per encounter. She doesn't seem particularly invested in these older men or even the sexual aspect itself, but rather enjoys the build-up and the recollections it brings. When one of her clients experiences an intense climax, she has to leave quickly before law enforcement arrives; they are astute and promptly appear at her residence where she, still seventeen, must account for a substantial sum of money to her mother. Her mother (Géraldine Pailhas) insists that she seek professional help, but perhaps a younger man like “Alex” (Laurent Delbecque) would be more suitable—or maybe she’ll revert to her previous patterns when she activates a hidden SIM card and a contact appears. The film doesn't attempt to explore the underlying reasons for her actions. Her encounter with "Felix" was consensual, albeit somewhat mechanical, so what motivated her to seek out affluent older men? “Isabelle” lacks depth as a character, making her interactions with various men feel like softly lit pornography. Vacth performs well, but I struggled to understand the relationship between her and her brother. While she is believable in her scenes, Pailhas has limited material until the final twenty minutes. It’s always welcome to see Charlotte Rampling onscreen, and her appearance toward the conclusion provides a somewhat unusual sense of resolution, but overall, I found this slightly repetitive drama disappointing.
