“You People,” a movie centered on the complications arising from a relationship between individuals from different cultural backgrounds, didn't quite live up to expectations. While the performers—many of whom have experience from “Saturday Night Live”—possess the ability to be funny, the film struggles to generate genuinely amusing or substantial moments. Certain aspects of its presentation, like the visual style that echoes scenes from "GTA 5" and the opening credits resembling a fast-motion digital illustration, were also disappointing. Furthermore, Eddie Murphy’s characterization, intended as an echo of Kenya Barris and emphasizing a negative perception of people who identify as biracial, proved to be a distraction. I didn't find “You People” particularly enjoyable.
