The movie feels somewhat lacking in originality, though the actors involved manage to make it more appealing than it might have been otherwise. *Yes Day* is precisely as advertised; anyone watching will likely guess what’s going to happen. The story unfolds in a very foreseeable manner, and even the more enjoyable scenes occasionally feel overly sentimental. However, there are some small, positive aspects to be found. Jennifer Garner (as Allison) and Édgar Ramírez (as Carlos) have an acceptable rapport, although Garner truly shines. Jenna Ortega (Katie) performs adequately in her part, which shares similarities with Isabela Merced’s role in *Instant Family*—and the film as a whole does too, really. There are also echoes of *Yes Man*, starring Jim Carrey, which is understandable. Both those films are considerably better, for what it's worth. It's not something I would watch again, but I can imagine families enjoying it. It’s all down to personal preference, naturally.
