"Daffy" attempts to convince "Porky," a casting agent, about the merits of "Sleepy Lagoon," all while under the observation of an Oscar statue. However, the young performer mostly remains passive, lounging with a lollipop, whereas “Daffy” himself delivers a whirlwind performance featuring various roles, including impersonations of Carmen Miranda and a wartime pilot. Despite his efforts, "Porky" seems overwhelmed by this constant activity—a feeling that extends to the audience as well—and finally consents to letting the child have a chance. Perhaps he needed something to soothe his throat? It's an acceptable effort overall, but I’ve never been keen on “Daffy’s” high-energy style, and here it feels excessive and drawn out.
