This is a really solid film! I don’t consider myself a huge comic book enthusiast, and watching the initial X-Men films left me curious about how everything got started—this one does a great job of explaining that. The performances were all strong; while it lacks Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen, Kevin Bacon made for a convincing villain and fit the role perfectly, and the visuals are striking. I really appreciated seeing the characters evolve throughout the story. Overall, I believe it's an excellent movie.
