The movie feels stretched out and honestly quite boring. *X-Large* manages to get to some kind of positive point by the end—though that’s open to question—but it does so through such an indirect route and with characters and situations that don't engage, making for a disappointing experience, at least in my opinion. It could have been effectively presented in about 90 minutes instead of the actual runtime of 135. The visual effects used to create Magdy’s appearance also don’t quite work. Despite being billed as a comedy, it doesn't generate much laughter. There was one scene I found mildly funny, but I can’t even remember what it was just now, which really sums up how I feel about it. It’s possible the language difference plays a role—that would be an understandable explanation, even if I don’t fully accept it. Ahmed Helmy, Donia Samir Ghanem and Ibrahim Nasr (who is the best of the group) are fine in their roles; they're probably the only things I'd commend about the film. It isn't a bad movie overall, just one that leaves you feeling completely unsatisfied.
