The actors portray characters who are cruel toward the rural population, seemingly because they don’t fit into an urban elite mold, and their performances come across as affected even during moments of solitude, leading to a desire for their demise. You don’t experience fear; instead, you find yourself hoping for the downfall of the protagonists—those characters who should elicit empathy and support—because they are so dismissive of those outside their circle, so self-important, that the only satisfaction comes from watching them meet their end. This isn't what makes a successful horror film. While it’s gratifying to see characters reminiscent of someone like an acquaintance from college – a man who was overly political, possessed a limited intellect, used elaborate vocabulary to appear intelligent, and acted as though he knew everything—it simply means you have to endure more people just like him. And regrettably, this time there isn't just one; it’s a whole group of them. The isolated community members seem welcoming and accepting of visitors, while also appearing intellectually advanced compared to even birds. Watching the film is an unpleasant experience.
