It's hard to say whether David Guy Levy’s film is mocking the horror genre’s trend toward graphic violence, or if it's simply a poorly made exploitation movie aimed at viewers who don’t ask for much. A group of eight people struggling financially are lured to the home of wealthy eccentric Shepard Lambrick (Jeffrey Combs) to play a game; the victor will have their greatest needs fulfilled. What initially appears to be a decent film quickly devolves into an over-reliance on shocking scenes, as the participants must perform “unimaginable” acts upon one another. There are some uncomfortable moments and occasions where you might find yourself considering how you would respond if put in a similar situation. However, it all comes across as careless and low-budget, with subpar performances and awkward lines further diminishing its quality. A late plot development is effective, but by that point, the experience may leave you feeling indifferent. 5/10
