This movie signifies a definitive conclusion to Oliver Stone’s career. While *Alexander* wasn't particularly good, you could still recognize his style while watching it; there was still an unmistakable sense of who had created the film. *World Trade Center* feels like someone directed a made-for-TV production but with a huge sum of money behind it. It’s skillfully crafted...but it lacks that signature Oliver Stone quality. There was a time when you could watch a movie and immediately know he directed it, even without seeing the credits. Now, after *Alexander*, you can only tell he contributed to the writing—and that's about all. *WTC* doesn’t bear his stamp of approval, and frankly, that’s what makes it disappointing.
