The film provides a new look at the well-known character while respecting Roald Dahl’s classic story about right and wrong. Paul King has created a cheerful, enjoyable, and visually impressive exploration of Willy Wonka's beginnings, with performers who fully embrace their roles, plenty of jokes, and technically remarkable design work that draws you in. Even though the plot follows an expected path and isn't as imaginative as other aspects of the production, it’s still a pleasant and well-balanced movie that is best enjoyed in theaters. Rating: B+
